The Azerbaijan and Zionist Regime relationship and its Implications on National Security of Iran

Volume 19, Issue 73, Winter 2017, Pages 137-158

Ali Omidi, Mustafa Kheyri

Abstract The main argument discussed at the paper is that the Azeri officials are thinking about the relationship with Israel in the context of their dispute with Armenia especially on the Karabakh issue.  In this context they are mainly seeking for having the advanced military equipment and technologies from Israel as well as to acquire the support of Zionist lobby in the USA against Armenia.  Israel and its turn values its relationship with Azerbaijan within the context of this so-called peripheral doctrine  The main purpose of which is to cope with the Islamic Republic of your own in terms of political, military, intelligence as well as economic matters.

Volume 19, Issue 72, Summer 2016, Pages 131-158

Reza Khalili

Abstract   It seems that the strategic approach that highlights the regional and international importance of the JCPOA, can better shed a light on its implications. The strategic approach has meaningful difference from other legal, political, security and technical approaches. Bearing these differences the paper intends to prove the regional and international implications of JCPOA for Iran. In this regard, the main hypothesis is that JCPOA has changed Iran into a regional power and has increased its international reputation. To prove this hypothesis the author has used a documentary way of research and based his argument on the existing facts and future trends that may affect the regional and international actors.   .

The Way of Constructing “Iran” in the Zionist Distinction Discourse

The Way of Constructing “Iran” in the Zionist Distinction Discourse

Volume 18, Issue 67, Winter 2015, Pages 7-42

Shojaa Ahmadvand, Vahideh Ahmadi

Abstract Construction and regeneration of the Jewish identity based on Zionist discourse, currently perused and undergone by the Israeli government, both at domestic and international levels, is one of the important processes in the said discourse. A scrutiny and illustration of various aspects of this mechanism will lead to revealing the hidden layers of the Zionist behavior and approach at internal and external levels. Given the importance of the way of constructing the Jewish identity concurrent with the Zionist discourse, the paper intends to answer the question of regeneration of the Jewish identity within the framework of its own purposes.  Thus it argues that the Zionist discourse is generating the Jewish identity through a distinction construct, while emphasizing Anti-Semitism, organizing the Jews in the Zionist distinction groupings and taking position against “other” identities consistent with the above said purposes.

Israel and Continuation of Tension between Iran and the United States

Volume 11, Issue 39, Spring 2008, Pages 135-164

Abdollah Ghanbarloo

Abstract linked to the heterogeneous political identities of the two sides. In this way, the role ofIsraelas an apprehensive variable is very important, because, neither the Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to acceptIsraelas an actor in the region, nor theUScan be indifferent towards the threats and pressures ofIranagainst its long life ally,Israel. It is specially the case due to the Jewish society in theUSas the main important lobby group in the country which is completely effective on decision making in the field of foreign policy including the US Middle East policy. Nowadays, theUSaccusations againstIran, including preventing the peace process in the Middle East, acquiring weapons of mass destruction, harboring terrorism and breach of human rights and democracy are strongly linked with security ofIsrael.  Therefore, although a limited cooperation betweenIranand theUSis possible at the tactical level, but as long as the current interaction between theUSandIsraelgoes on, normalization of theIran–USrelations would be impossible.

Theoretical Pattern of Revolutionary Change in Iran

Theoretical Pattern of Revolutionary Change in Iran

Volume 8, Issue 29, Autumn 2005, Pages 531-562

Mohammad Shafieifar

Abstract From among the possible types of social transformations, revolution occurs in some societies, while social changes are made in certain other societies without resort to revolutionary violence in line with national goals. Revolutionary change usually ensues the failure of non-revolutionary changes and is often characterized by deep dissatisfaction with the existing conditions, the expansion of new ideologies, intensified revolutionary fever, mobilizing political-social structures, popular participation, violent struggle and the replacement of the previous order with a new system. Iran has experienced a variety of revolutionary and evolutionary changes the latest of which is the Islamic Revolution. If one can offer a theoretical pattern for revolutionary changes in the Iranian society, then this pattern might be used in practice for strategic purposes thus while avoiding violent consequences of revolutionary changes, national goals may be achieved. In the Iranian society, revolutionary potential is always found. Change in the objective and institutional conditions of a society is a starting point for revolutionary change which in the case of availability of sufficient requirements (leadership, organization, and ideology) leads the revolutionary transformation into its ultimate end. This author tries to draw a theoretical pattern of revolutionary change in the Iranian society, while explaining revolution and revolutionary change.
